With the overwhelming support of the Federal Parliament on 7th December 2017 Australia officially became the 26th country to legalise same-sex marriage. Following a national poll where the majority supported equal marriage rights for all Australians we made a progressive step in human rights. For the first time, same sex families now have equal rights and obligations under Australian Family Law. Divorce for same-sex partners is no longer a grey area.
Love is love. Marriage is marriage. Divorce is divorce. SPLIT supports an inclusive approach to equal rights for all people.
